About the role
The British Red Cross are looking for a flexible and reliable individual to join our Independent Living team as a Third Sector Broker. This is a great opportunity for someone who has a knowledge of services provided by the statutory sector and other local voluntary organisations & community groups.
As a Third Sector Broker you will develop effective partnerships with non-statutory organisations within the area to ensure swift acceptance of service users referred by the MDT into their services, and develop a partnership approach to addressing service user needs.

Our services help to prevent people from reaching crisis point; reducing admissions to hospitals and the need for residential and nursing care.
We are committed to delivering a person-centred service and enabling service users to achieve their personal outcomes. These may include enhanced quality of life, increased confidence and independence, and an improved sense of choice and control.

About the person
To succeed and thrive in this role you must have a broad knowledge of the health and social care system and have further skills and experience:

  • Educated to A level or equivalent by experience
  • QCF/Management qualification or achievement of this within a 18 month period
  • Experience in Design & delivery of services
  • Knowledge of the needs and expectations of vulnerable adults who have health & social care support needs
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and risk management and how these are carried out
  • IT literate
  • Full UK driving license and car owner/have access to a vehicle
