The British Heart Foundation (BHF) seeks to appoint an experienced fundraiser as their new Director of Philanthropy. The post-holder will have the opportunity to transform the BHF’s philanthropic goals, pushing the boundaries of major gift fundraising and embedding an inspiring vision for philanthropy across the charity.

The BHF is the largest independent funder of cardiovascular research in the UK and one of the biggest in the world. The charity works tirelessly to solve a global problem and research funded by the BHF has had worldwide impact for those affected by heart and circulatory diseases.

With over 180 members of staff in the Fundraising directorate, the BHF has recently reviewed its fundraising strategy, and aims to deliver an ambitious, world class, supporter-centric fundraising programme for the whole charity.

Reporting to the Director of Fundraising, the successful candidate will support and lead the Philanthropy team to develop and implement strategies to exponentially grow income and support from high net worth individuals and trusts.

The successful candidate will be entrepreneurial and results-driven with outstanding communication and influencing skills and the presence, gravitas and intellect to operate effectively at all levels. S/he will be at ease working closely with senior teams across the BHF, including the Chief Executive, as well as prospects capable of giving up to £1 million.

If you want to play a pivotal part in making a significant impact on the advancement of world class scientific research into heart and circulatory disease, then this unique, career-defining opportunity is for you.
