About the role

We are looking for an outstanding experienced mid-weight Senior Front End Developer to join our high performance digital delivery team. The ideal candidate will be a talented and technical design-led developer. You'll be an expert at leading design prototypes into high quality production code delivering world class experiences online. Strong Sitecore .Net and MVC experience is desirable.

The BHF's core online site is a vital service serving over one million customers a month with distinct customer needs from outpatients to carers, health professionals to fundraisers, shoppers and many more. We are driving a major design, technology and information architecture upgrade to deliver a much enhanced user driven experience for all our customers across digital services and products.

You'll support front-end development for always on digital products and systems which together process £40 million transactions a year - vital to the BHF's work leading heart health research.

About you

The successful candidate will join our existing agile development team delivering start-to-finish UX/UI prototypes into design and development as well as evolving legacy Sitecore into MVC Sitecore Experience Platform architecture.

With a computing degree or relevant industry experience, you will have strong knowledge of Javascript, Jquery and related frameworks. You'll be knowledgeable on cross-browser compatibility issues and experienced in ways to work around them.

You'll be a strong team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to develop close working relationships. The role will collaborate closely with UX, back-end developers, business analysts and testers as well as remote developers and agencies in scoping, designing and delivering effective new features and functionalities and triaging priority bugs.

You will have the ability to turn complex business ideas into simple to understand and easy to use customer interfaces, whilst also championing the importance of responsive design to ensure an optimal experience across all platforms especially mobile.
