For over 50 years our research has saved lives. We’ve broken new ground, revolutionised treatments and transformed care. But heart and circulatory disease still kills one in four people in the UK. That’s why we need you.

The British Heart Foundation (BHF) plans to deliver significant business change programmes and projects in the next few years. The Knowledge and Technology team is at the heart of delivering this change, and is building skills and teams to achieve success.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Systems Solutions Architect to join our growing team and play a pivotal role in ensuring customer facing web systems and marketing systems are well integrated, robust, scalable, and secure. You will ensure they meet agreed architectural principles and represent good value for money.

You'll support the organisation in moving towards an API based architecture hosted in the cloud, with data flowing securely and smoothly between systems including our website(s), our e-mail marketing platform, our CRM, marketing automation tools and our customer service tools.

Skills and experience

A subject matter expert in API centric architecture you will have experience of Azure and/or AWS design. You will also have expert knowledge of web platform technology.

You will have strong analysis and be fluent in the Microsoft stack, from on-premises to Cloud PaaS/IaaS. You'll have the ability to work with software developers and infrastructure teams to ensure Web apps, services and provisions are highly scalable, elastic and tolerant.

With excellent communication skills you will be able to work with staff at all levels of the organisation and key 3rd parties and vendors. You’ll have excellent analytical and organisational skills, able to keep the end goal in sight and ensure project deadlines are met. You will also have the ability to build strong working relationships and be able to explain technical information to a non-technical audience, communicating findings effectively.
