Who We Are Looking For

Are you ready to combine your financial expertise with your passion for wildlife conservation? The World Parrot Trust is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Administrator and Bookkeeper to oversee the financial operations of our global charity.

This unique role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on parrot conservation and welfare worldwide. The ideal candidate is highly organised, skilled in financial management using QuickBooks accounting software, and has a proven track record in financial administration and bookkeeping. You will thrive in this role if you enjoy working independently, can manage complex financial operations with precision, and approach challenges with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.

A strong ability to prioritise tasks, coupled with excellent communication skills and a shared passion for conservation and wildlife welfare, will be key to your success.

Main Role:

Your role will be integral to ensuring the organization’s financial administration runs smoothly and efficiently, from reconciling accounts and managing payments to producing financial reports and supporting compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Administration

  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for the World Parrot Trust
  • Managing payroll, including soliciting sick/holiday leave; completing monthly PAYE and NEST payments.
  • Reconcile accounts, process payments, and manage vendor relationships.
  • Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, cash flow statements, and income statements.
  • Monitor project budgets and track grant spending to ensure effective resource allocation.
  • Confidently navigate international transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including Charity Commission filings.

Administrative Support

  • Ensure timely reporting of incoming donation, project and grant funds.
  • Facilitate audits and prepare year-end accounts.
  • Oversee payroll, and vendor files to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Support Board meetings by preparing financial reports.
  • Organise and manage financial documentation and related correspondence.
