Are you a visionary leader with a passion for driving social change?
Do you have the strategic insight and commitment to advancing race equality, social justice, and creating true equity and anti-racism in the UK?
Operation Black Vote (OBV) is seeking a dynamic and inspirational Chief Executive to guide us through an exciting period of growth and transformation.
Established in 1996, OBV has become the UK’s most recognised organisation in empowering Black, Asian, and minority ethnic individuals and communities to understand the power of their Vote, engage with democratic processes, and drive necessary change.
Over the past 25 years, our civic leadership and shadow mentoring programmes have been instrumental in increasing the representation of Black and Asian MPs, magistrates, local politicians, school governors, and other civic leaders.
As Chief Executive, you will work closely with our Board to bring our newly adopted ‘Strategic Vision, Mission, and Plan’ to life. Your leadership will be crucial in ensuring that OBV not only continues to grow but does so in a financially sound and high-performing manner.
Equally important will be your role in uniting and mobilising communities to confront systemic racism, democratic inequality, and the climate injustices that disproportionately affect Black and Asian communities in the UK and globally.
We’re looking for someone with proven experience in strategic leadership who has been meaningfully active in tackling racism and driving social change. You must also possess a deep and unwavering commitment to our core aims. This role is more than just a leadership position—it’s an opportunity to make a profound and lasting impact on the future of race equity, social justice and human rights in the UK.
If what you’ve read resonates with you, and you believe you have the strong strategic leadership skills necessary to lead OBV into the future, we would love to hear from you.
If you are interested in this role, please email shaniya.patel@obv.org.uk to request an information pack.
If you would like an informal discussion about the role, please also contact Shaniya Patel on email - shaniya.patel@obv.org.uk in the first instance and we will make contact.
Closing Date: 14 October 2024 at 12.00pm
Assessments: Week commencing 21 October 2024
Final Panel Interview: Week commencing 28 October 2024
