About Us

ERIC, The Children’s Bowel & Bladder Charity is a leading national charity devoted to enhancing the lives of children and young people with bowel and bladder issues. Our mission is to significantly reduce the challenges and impacts associated with continence problems, offering hope, support, and practical solutions to children, families, and caregivers alike.

After 10 years in post, our CEO is standing down and so we are looking for a new CEO to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 35 hours per week.

The Role

As our CEO, you will provide visionary leadership and direction for our organisation, bringing new perspective to our work and growing our reach and impact.

Reinforcing our values and approach to well-being across the staff and volunteer team, you will lead and manage our team of 21 staff and 10+ volunteers to deliver our three year strategic plan.

You will also work as part of our Senior Leadership Team and alongside the Trustees to deliver financial growth to ensure we are future-proofed and make sure suitable business systems are in place to enable change, compliance and good governance.

The major parts of your role will involve strategic and team leadership, operational management, stakeholder relationship management and income generation and profile raising activities.

Additionally, you will:

- Lead, coach, and empower the senior leadership team and all direct staff reports
- Lead the development our three-year strategic plan, maximising our impact and resilience
- Foster strong relationships with the Chair and the Board of Trustees
- Build relationships with external stakeholders, including the government and the children’s workforce
- Seek out and develop new income streams to ensure stability and continued growth
- Represent us as a spokesperson for media and PR
- Ensure compliance with charity commission regulations

About You

To be considered as our CEO, you will need:

- Experience of working with and reporting to a Board of Trustees or Directors and managing governance processes
- Experience of leading and managing a remote team
- Experience in generating income aligned to strategic goals
- A strong understanding of health, equity, and diversity principles
- A transformational leadership style with extensive experience of working at a strategic level in the charity or non-profit sector
- Effective communication, influencing, and presentation skills
- A resilient and determined mindset, capable of leading a team

The closing date for this role is 22nd September 2024.

Interviews will take place the week commencing the 7th October 2024.
