Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Operations Manager to lead and manage the operational functions of the Foundation. This role requires a capable leader who can autonomously manage and deliver key programmes, drive strategic initiatives, and ensure the smooth execution of our mission. The successful candidate will have a strong track record in operational leadership, financial management, and partnership development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the management of the Foundation’s operations, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of all programmes and initiatives.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of strategic plans, aligning them with the Foundation’s goals and objectives.
  • Manage financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, and resource allocation.
  • Lead on strategic communications and public relations efforts to enhance the Foundation’s visibility and reputation.
  • Establish and nurture partnerships with educational institutions, community organisations, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee the scholarship programme, including the application, selection, and monitoring processes.
  • Coordinate and lead the planning and execution of events, workshops, and development programmes.
  • Develop and maintain an active alumni network, supporting continuous professional development for past scholars.
  • Ensure compliance with charity governance standards and legal requirements.
  • Act as a key advisor to the CEO, providing insights and recommendations on operational and strategic matters.

Essential Skills and Experiences:

  • Extensive experience in operations management, preferably within a charity or non-profit organisation.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning and implementation.
  • Excellent financial management skills, including budget preparation and oversight.
  • Outstanding communication and public relations skills, with experience in managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and make decisions autonomously.
  • Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • High level of digital literacy, including proficiency in MS Office, G Suite, and social media platforms.

Desirable Skills and Experiences:

  • Knowledge of charity governance and experience in the non-profit sector.
  • Familiarity with the policy landscape affecting students, young people, and the Muslim community in the UK.
  • Experience in project management, including the ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Previous experience working with young people, local communities, or within the education sector.
  • A degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, non-profit management, or education.
  • Experience with safeguarding policies and practices (training can be provided).
