Job Details
South West climate action charitable CBS, the Eco Centre, is seeking to appoint a board member to help step up its plans for a regional sustainability centre, events programme and innovative outreach project - helping people and communities live more sustainably.
We’re looking for experience and skilled people to actively help with the day-to-day running of the organisation and projects, as well as provide the leadership and vision to drive forward the next three years of growth & development.
We are currently recruiting a board member to cover the following specialism:
- ICT/Web Development - Experience of developing websites, web applications and web design. Able to provide ICT support to the board.
It is essential that you:
- have time to commit to monthly (online) board meetings, lead on your area of special, and contribute to the overall running of the organisation - at least 6-8 hours per month
- are able to work as part of a team
- have a commitment to action on climate change and environmental sustainability
Preferably you will:
- live or work in the South West
- be able to help out occasionally at events and activities in the region

We focus on the practical actions people and organisations can take to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and be more sustainable. We do this through community outreach, events, and our plan for a regional sustainability hub.
The hub (Eco Centre) will be a centre of excellence for the South West, but with national significance. It will provide the platform for:
- Engaging - informing and inspiring people about sustainable living, technology and products – for business and at home.
- Facilitating and nurturing cross-sector collaboration to help drive sustainable innovation.
- Enabling – promoting and supporting people to live and work sustainably by helping to develop local schemes - through community engagement and collective action.
