These are exciting times for the charity and we now have an excellent opportunity for a proactive and professional HR professional with strong influencing and problem-solving skills to join the teams as a People Team Advisor.

This is a remote working role with onsite working in Devon 2 – 4 days per month. Please ensure you are able to accommodate the onsite commitment before applying.

Position: 1620 People Team Advisor

Location: Remote (please note there is an onsite attendance requirement at the Devon office, currently estimated to be 2-4 days per month, so therefore we are unable to consider anyone living outside of a commutable distance of this location)

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week

Salary: £37,565 per annum

Contract: Permanent

Closing Date: Thursday 14 March 2024

The Role

As People Team Advisor, you will provide expert support and advice to managers in all areas of HR and employee relations matters, both in the UK and internationally.

Responsibilities will include:

 

  • Ensuring HR policies, procedures and standards are applied fairly, reasonably and consistently throughout the charity.
  • Leading on the management of absence, liaising with medical professionals and occupational health services to obtain appropriate advice, making recommendations on next steps and giving ongoing advice and support to managers.
  • Participating in and chairing a range of employee relations meetings including absence and disciplinary dismissal hearings.
  • Participating in, and where appropriate leading on a variety of projects, finding effective solutions to improve the people service across the whole charity.
  • Creating, reviewing and updating charity policies, procedures and handbooks to ensure they remain current and are compliant with employment law and best practice.

 

About You

You will have a Level 5 CIPD qualification with post qualification experience (or equivalent expertise through study and experience) of working within a multi-site environment, along with:

 

  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of employment law and people practices.
  • Experience of managing complex employee relations and performance management issues.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, able to establish, build and maintain successful professional partnerships with stakeholders and enhance the credibility of the people function.
  • An effective communicator at all levels (written and verbal), able to communicate complex information transparently and effectively.
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills, able to meet competing priorities and time frames, whilst making effective and pragmatic decisions and recommendations based on specific situations and contexts.
  • Practical working knowledge of using HR systems.
