The role

Are you passionate about purposeful research and innovation? Do you have a talent for reaching underrepresented audiences? Do you enjoy partnering with subject matter experts turn complex technical content into compelling stories? This role could be for you.

We are looking for a talented communications and marketing generalist with experience in research, innovation or Higher Education to partner with our research and awards teams to develop and deliver a communications and marketing plan that attracts diverse applicants to our programmes and prizes, and celebrates the achievements of awardees, whether that’s the development of new neurotechnologies to treat dementia or research that enables new methods of hydrogen storage for net zero maritime transportation. As part of this role you will also support the establishment of our exciting new Green Future Fellowships programme to fund excellent engineering research into breakthrough green technologies.

A communications and marketing generalist, you will apply technical skills in communications planning, audience mapping, digital marketing, content production, and evaluation to transform the awareness and reach of our research programmes and awards. You will take a relentlessly audience-first approach, and have a talent for unearthing the human stories behind technical developments, and for raising the profile of experts.

Your work in this role will enable exceptional engineers across the UK to be supported by the Academy develop breakthrough solutions to societal challenges, from environmental sustainability or better ageing, to the realisation of the benefits of AI.
