We have an exciting opportunity for a strategic thinker with highly effective decision-making skills to join the team as CEO, in this rewarding, hybrid, flexible working role.

Position: CEO

Location: Leicester/hybrid

Hours: Full-time (reduced or flexible working hours available after initial joining period)

Salary: £37,500 to £45,000 depending on experience, pro rata

Contract: Permanent (funding is in place for 2 years currently)

Benefits: Pension, annual leave 25 days pro rata + bank holidays, Workplace pension, Laptop and Phone, Training

The Role

Working for an established local charity who have a proven record in providing a wide range of free advice to residents, you will build upon the existing partnerships and grow new ones to increase the accessibility of the services provided.

As the new CEO, you will be working with a skilled and dedicated team of 10 staff, plus volunteers and a cohesive Board of Trustees with a diverse range of experience.

You will be responsible to the Board of Trustees for:


  • Leadership
  • Strategy
  • Partnership and Business Development
  • Operations
  • Financial Controls
  • Governance and Compliance

About You

We are looking for a CEO who is passionate about helping those most marginalised in society and committed to helping improve their situation. You will be resilient with strength of character, flexibility and the ability to prioritise complex situations.

You will have experience of:


  • Leading teams or organisations to deliver high quality results
  • Strategic planning and achieving targets
  • Developing strong external public relationships promoting and representing an organisation
  • Securing funds and working with funding partners and grant making organisations
  • Working with volunteers and in the voluntary sector
  • Working with a small team


An in-depth knowledge of the issues around advice services, while useful, is not an essential requirement for the post: it is more important that you are someone with strategic vision and leadership qualities who is willing to learn.

About the Organisation

This charitable company, limited by guarantee, was established in 1997 as a Strategic Partnership response to an identified need for easy access to free independent advice, care and support to impoverished and vulnerable people, living within the Borough of Oadby and Wigston (Leicestershire), neighbouring villages and rural communities.

To date the Trust has assisted over 120,000 clients and dealt with over 144,000 advice enquiries, utilising paid and voluntary advisors, agencies and professional partners.

Other areas of experience may include CEO, Chief Exec, Chief Executive Officer, Senior Exec, Head of, Director, COO, CFO, Director of Operations, Managing Director, Deputy CEO, Deputy Chief Executive Officer.
