Our client is recruiting a Temporary Generalist Advisor to join their team delivering advice to the diverse community within North Manchester.
Generalist Advisor (Temporary)
Hours: Part-time (28 hours per week worked over 4 days – preferably including Friday)
Based: Office based in North Manchester, M8 with opportunity to work one day a week from home
Salary: £28,371 pro rata (Actual: £22,696) (pay award pending)
Duration: This is a temporary position guaranteed until March 2024 with the possibility of being extended until September 2024.
About the organisation
Established by the community in 1977, this charity is a busy neighbourhood advice centre in Manchester providing legal advice and support to residents.
About the Role
The post holder will deliver general advice in social welfare law, including welfare benefits, debt and housing, to Manchester residents.
You will work alongside the advisors and volunteers in their advice service. They want to recruit somebody with an understanding of welfare benefits, housing and debt, the ability to work well in a team and the ability to research and interpret information from authoritative sources. This post is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund Cost-of-Living grant until the end of March 24 which is allowing us to expand our services at this critical time.
The closing date for applications is Monday 4th December 2023.
