Harris Hill charity recruiters are working with one of the UK's leading charities who is looking for a new Head of New Product Development and Innovation. This leadership role will sit within Strategy and Operations Directive and will be an exciting opportunity for you to lead the successful New Product Development and Innovation team.

If successful, you will have the opportunity to help grow the income across the charity through new product development and innovation in new and existing markets. Your principal aim in this role is to maximise income by identifying, ideating, validating, and delivering new products and business development opportunities.


You will have responsibility for:

- Managing a high performing team of project managers to build & test new products and make recommendations for potential income streams

- Measuring impact and facilitating decision making which supports the charity's ambition to significantly grow their income

- Responding quickly to market insight and where possible, ensure they are first to market

- Ensure there is an integrated approach to decision making around developing new products

As the new Head of NPD and Innovation you will be responsible for working with the SMT, to identify, research and lead on a pipeline of projects which have the potential to increase income and engage new audiences.

Job purpose

The primary objectives are to:

- be responsible for the delivery of a portfolio of new products annually.

- capitalise on new income opportunities that can deliver significant short and long-term income.

- work across the organisation to identify opportunities and barriers to income generation.

- prepare financial models forecasting the viability of initiatives and projects.

- identify and act on the best opportunities to achieve long term income growth across the organisation based on internal and external market data.

 

Main duties and responsibilities are to:

- research, initiate and manage a pipeline of projects that increase income potential.

- maximise income by sharing your knowledge, specialist expertise and experience with others to add value to cross-market fundraising and commercial activities.

- proactively take steps to increase the organisations knowledge and awareness of key market insights which can inform and influence decision making.

- manage a high performing team and lead on innovation across the organisation.

 

Skills & Experience:

- Proven ability to inspire, influence & lead change and establish new ways of working across organisations.

- Excellent programme management skills to ensure complex projects are delivered and manage interdependencies.

- Proven abilities and experience in senior stakeholder engagement and relationship management at the highest levels.

- Ability to establish and then evaluate strategic initiatives to ensure the most value is created for an organisation, alongside a proven ability to problem solve and overcome challenges on complex projects.

- Proven ability to successfully negotiate to achieve desired outcomes demands and establish clear priorities to meet objectives.

- Proven experience assessing income potential of opportunities, interpreting external market insight to inform decision making and measuring impact.

- Proven experience in business development, across new and existing markets.

- It would be advantageous if you held a business analysis or change management qualification.

- Proven experience setting up a team and establishing the team's purpose, remit, processes, and ways of working (this would be an advantage).
