Home Ownership and Sales Officer - Maternity Cover
Location: Letchworth, Hertfordshire
Salary: £30,373 plus essential car user
Hours: 37hrs
Contract: Full time
Role Purpose
Our client builds a range of different housing products to meet the needs of the communities in which they operate. Your task is to ensure that the business maximises sales revenue through the active management of Right to Buy/ Right to Acquire applications and Shared Ownership resales/staircasing opportunities.
Making it happen
You will:

Be responsible for delivering a professional and informative service to Right to Buy/Right to Acquire customers and existing Shared Ownership leaseholders looking to staircase or resell their property.

Ensure we meet our legal obligations in the administration of the Right to Buy and Right to Acquire processes protecting both the tenant’s and the organisation’s interests.

Give clear and sound information to customers applying to buy their Housing Association home on the benefits and responsibilities of home ownership, with particular emphasis on the implications of buying their flat/house on a leasehold basis.

Manage customers’ expectations, particularly through the statutory process of Right to Buy and Right to Acquire

Keep up to date with changes to Right to Buy and Right to Acquire legislation, case law and best practice

Support the Sales and Marketing team in maintaining strong working relationships with colleagues across the business

Process staircasing enquiries and applications from start to end.

Process shared ownership resale applications utilising marketing platforms to assist in selling homes to generate income via sales proceeds and agent fees
You will also:

Assist with covering new shared ownership sale enquiries in periods of increased activity.

Collect and record data to monitor both the Right to Buy, Right to Acquire, and shared ownership sales processes

Be mindful of compliance risks to the business, utilising established development procedures and filing system when undertaking all activity
A basic must
-
An understanding and experience of Right to Buy and Right to Acquire schemes
-
An understanding of leases to process staircasing and resale applications
-
An ability to manage a varied workload, meet performance targets and statutory deadlines
-
Excellent communication skills for interacting with potential applicants, existing customers, solicitors, internal colleagues, financial advisors etc

Excellent organisational skills

Customer service experience

A willingness to learn
Able to:

Use all the standard Microsoft office tools
-
Become proficient in QL contact management software
-
Work with figures, for example in calculating pro rata rent and service charges
