Finance / Treasury Manager

Job reference: REQ000443

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000

Location: Woking, Surrey GU21 4LL/Hybrid Working

As a qualified accountant it is not every day you get the opportunity to save the planet, but that is what we can offer you as the Finance / Treasury Manager for the Treasury unit at WWF UK. As the world’s largest independent conservation organisation, we are working to make the continued destruction of nature politically, socially and economically unacceptable. To make sure we are successful it is essential to ensure that there are sound controls over our income and balance sheet. This is where your accountancy skills come in.

As Finance / Treasury Manager you will support and develop your team to maintain compliance with our Treasury Management Policy. This will include short and long term cashflow planning as well as managing foreign currency requirements to minimise costs, risk and exposure. You will support the Head of Accounting Operations in the development and implementation of a Treasury strategy, including foreign currency management too. You will also oversee income and banking processes, making sure transactions are processed on an accurate and timely basis as well as ensure proper controls are in place over all bank and income control accounts. We will look to you to manage relationships with banks and other financial institutions, deliver systems for new income streams and maintain a comprehensive register of assets. Critical will be the ability to review and update treasury systems and processes to ensure they remain effective and efficient.

You must be a qualified accountant (CCAB standard) with significant experience of managing large volumes of data from a range of sources and reconciling bank and control accounts. Expert at cash flow forecasting, you will possess a solid understanding of an international treasury function, including management of currency risk and FX transactions. Able to complete complex reconciliations, you will, ideally, possess a Treasury Management qualification and experience of Sun accounting systems.

Effective at building the capacity of teams, you will be good at coaching and motivating others. A strong communicator, you will have an eye for detail and be skilled at meeting deadlines.

If you have the accounting skills to change hearts and minds through great media work and are passionate about building a movement in defence of nature, we’d love to hear from you. Please click on the link and apply via our website by submitting a copy of your up-to-date CV and the Supporting Statement to highlight what makes you a good fit for us.

Every role at WWF is open to applications from all sections of society. We believe in the potential of everyone regardless of; sex, race, religion or belief, ethnic origin, different physical ability, family structure, socio-economics, age, nationality or citizenship, marital, domestic or civil partnership, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other aspect that makes you, well you.  Here at WWF, we are committed to conscious inclusion that helps cultivate an ethos of belonging, connection and shared purpose.  We believe that the more diverse we are the better we become; this brings us together and empowers us to develop, engage and inspire; and critically to help build a future where people can live in harmony with nature.

Our policies and benefits reflect the importance of people being able to have a good work-life balance and being able to bring their ‘full self’ to work.

Our world needs you like never before. We are the first generation to know we are destroying the world and we could be the last that can do anything about it. We are looking for people who are passionate about making it politically, socially and economically unacceptable to destroy our planet’s natural resources. We need you to join us in the fight for our world.

Company

Best known as the world’s leading conservation body, we’ve seen first-hand how wildlife, the environment and human activity are all interlinked.

That’s why our passion for safeguarding the natural world has to be backed up by other environmental action – tackling the global threat of climate change (through our big global campaigns like Earth Hour) and helping people to change the way they live to ease pressure on natural resources.

WWF is at the heart of global activities in all these areas. We have teams of highly skilled professionals working with governments, businesses and communities here in the UK and around the world.
