Deputy Manager – Community Support Services
This is an exciting opportunity for a new Deputy Manager, to help lead the team as we develop new and innovative ways of providing the best possible support to our clients.
Position: Deputy Manager
Location: South Essex CM12 0DU
Salary: £12.50-£13.50 per hour (£24,454.69 - £26,411.06 pa)
Contract: Permanent, full-time 37.5 hours per week

About the role:
As Deputy Manager you will have experience in the field of learning/complex disabilities, ideally in a CQC regulated service, you will need to be a genuinely pro-active and positive team player with experience of leading and motivating staff, especially through periods of change.
Some key skills and responsibilities will include:
- To ensure all new service users are provided with a thorough assessment and a comprehensive care plan
- To monitor the quality and effectiveness of the activity programmes in each division
- To ensure medication administration requirements and specialist health care tasks are identified and accessed
- To work alongside the Manager and QA Manager to develop and continually review practice standards
- To support the Division leaders in effective rota planning
- To network with local community organisations
- To be responsive to the needs of service users requiring support in their own homes
- To capture feedback and record both qualitative and quantitative information about service
- To ensure that the required risk assessments are in place for all relevant aspects of the service
- To be involved where appropriate in the development and delivery of staff training
- To ensure that safeguarding guidelines and legislation are always met within the services
- Attending relevant training courses and staff development programmes
About you:
To be successful in the role of Deputy Manager you will have experience of supporting a wide age range of individuals who have a learning disability.
You will also have the following skills and experience:
- Diploma level 3 in Health and Social Care or similar or a willingness to undertake a leadership qualification
- Knowledge of Epilepsy and rescue medication
- Experience of staff management and delivering effective supervisions
- Experience of activity planning
- Full driving license. Able to drive HT vehicles as well as use of own car
- Confidence in managing a part regulated service needing to grow and diversify
- Good communication skills
- Commitment to own learning and that of their team
- ICT skills such as MS Office suit

They wanted to provide life enriching support that was not readily available, affordable, or easy to access, for families just like them. This mission still drives the charity today. They are proud to support families and the community across Essex via their day and community outreach service.
