Jamma International is the philanthropic arm of a private family office. Their sphere of interest is focused on sustainable human centred conservation and community development in Southern Africa and mental wellbeing issues, mainly in the UK.

Jamma and our partners are strongly committed to preserving the principles of the sustainable use of natural resources and the rights of people living alongside wildlife and other natural resources to choose how best to manage and utilise it sustainably. 

Jamma International is looking for an exceptional, experienced and strategic person to develop an evidence-led sustainable use communications campaign to promote sustainable use as a principle in conservation and community economies and challenge entrenched narratives around conservation in the global north. 

We are seeking an individual:

Experienced in designing and driving a global communications campaign aimed at a diverse range of audiences which will deliver measurable results.

Experienced in working with partner organisations and turning complex data and evidence into engaging communications and campaigns to inspire, engage and drive support.

Experienced in communicating contentious issues and developing messaging related to said issues.

A strategic thinker, who can build effective working relationships with our partners and advise colleagues on communications campaigns and how to engage target audiences.

Able to facilitate collaboration in wide-spread networks, connecting individual communications into a cohesive campaign.

With the ability to develop and deliver a cohesive content and social media strategy and  cultivate and develop relations with media outlets to secure placement of thought leading content.

Who can establish new mechanisms for dissemination of accurate information related to sustainable use.

Key Experience and Qualifications

  • Extensive communications and or public relations expertise at a senior level.
  • Experience working in a communications environment with global reach.
  • A minimum of 8 years’ professional experience in communications, marketing, journalism, PR, or related field.
  • Proven ability to create and place articles in major media outlets and experience with social media strategy and content creation.
  • A good understanding of the international political environment.
  • A demonstrated and well-established network of effective international communications and media contacts

This is a Full time, 2 Year fixed term contract position.
