Assistant Co-ordinator
Central London, UK

The Organisation

IIED is a policy and action research organisation of around 150 staff and a global leader in action for social and environmental justice. We promote sustainable development to improve livelihoods and protect the environments on which these livelihoods are built. We specialise in linking local priorities to global challenges. IIED is based in London, Scotland and Europe and works in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and the Pacific, with some of the world’s most marginalised people. We work to achieve impact through a vibrant global network of partners. Most of these operate at the grassroots level of developing countries in communities which are among the most exposed on the planet to the impacts of the climate crisis, global nature loss and rising inequality. We work with them to strengthen their voice in the decision-making arenas that affect them – from village councils to international conventions.

The Human Settlements Group has worked on urban environmental and poverty issues since the 1970s. The group aims to support more equitable and sustainable development in urban centres in low- and middle-income countries.

We are now seeking an Assistant Co-ordinator to join our Human Settlements Group on a full-time basis for a 12-month fixed-term contract (with possibility of extension).
