This is a new and exciting role for a proactive self-starter to support the management of the Santander Foundation – our independent Corporate Foundation and registered Charity. In 2021, the Foundation launched a new strategy focused on improving digital and financial inclusion across the UK through its Financial and Digital Empowerment fund. In our last funding window, we awarded almost £3m to 21 charitable organisations across the country.

The Foundation also awards Matched Donations to support and encourage colleagues’ engagement with their local communities.

This role will be instrumental in the delivery of the Foundations strategic objectives and day to day operations.

The difference you’ll make.

  • Managing and overseeing the delivery of the Financial and Digital Empowerment fund, including the relationships with Foundation grantees
  • Supporting the development of a monitoring & evaluation methodology for the grants programme, including oversight of the external impact evaluation manager
  • Supporting the day-to-day operations of the Foundation, including ensuring appropriate risk management, governance, marketing and communications
  • Ensuring the Foundation is aligned with the charitable sector best practices and governance requirements
  • Building internal and external relationships with grantees and organisations aligned to the Foundation objectives to help raise brand awareness

What you’ll bring.

  • Experience delivering grants programmes and an understanding of grant-making systems, tools and processes
  • Demonstrates a good understanding, interpretation and application of Charity sector practices and governance requirements.

It would also be nice for you to have.

  • Excellent project management skills
  • High level understanding of impact report process/tools/methodologies and ability to drive the collection of data/KPIs
  • Understanding of UK voluntary sector and Employee Engagement initiatives, considering experience in supporting company-wide CSR initiatives for employees volunteering and engagement

What else you need to know.

The role can be based nationally; however, you will be required to attend meetings in London once or twice a month – more information can be obtained from Career Mobility team
