Young Futures believes that every young person’s life is filled with potential. We help young people see, believe in, and fulfil their dreams and show that a difficult past should not define your future. We have a strong track record in providing excellent semi-independent provision to young people aged 16+, and in scoring outstandingly in all LA service reviews. Our plan is to register with Ofsted and support children aged 13-17 years old.

Whilst we have a stunning, modern, purpose-built, all-female, therapeutic unit, our greatest asset is our people.

We are keen to appoint a Registered Children’s Home Manager to help prepare Yvonne House for registration this autumn. We are looking for a forward-thinking, passionate, intuitive, and authentic leader to ensure the home’s success, and who is committed to a culture of high aspirations and ambition for all young people in which they experience positive outcomes.

Do you have?

•           At least 3 years’ experience of managing a team of Practitioners in supporting children and young people.

•           Good working knowledge of relevant policy and our key external regulator Ofsted and experience in meeting Children’s Home Regulations and Quality Standards.

•           Ability to facilitate a culture of self-advocacy and co-production and to have supported children and/or young people to have their voice heard.

•           Good working knowledge of the impact of trauma and secondary trauma.

•           The passion and skills to champion Inclusion, Diversity and Equality.

Salary & Benefits

We believe all staff should be paid well for work that delivers excellent services and changes the lives of young people in and leaving care.

As a result we offer:

•           Competitive Sector Salary (including options to flex working hours up or down) + Work Related Travel + Pension Contribution

•           Generous Annual Leave - 37 Days pro-rata, including Bank Holidays.

•           Wellbeing Budget (£25 per month for all staff to encourage self-care)

•           Monthly wellbeing time

•           Training and Support – online modules, group training and personal training budget

•           Line Management and Therapeutic 1:1 Supervision, and Therapeutic Group Supervision monthly

•           Employee Assistance Programme

•           Cycle to Work Scheme

Most of us can count on our families for love, support and guidance when we need it most. But young people in care have to grow up without this safety net. And at age 18, the limited support they do receive drops substantially at a really critical time.  This lack of support can leave them feeling abandoned and vulnerable and facing a future of further disadvantage.

We're here to fill that gap and to support young care-leavers on their journey into adulthood. We help them move towards practical, financial, social and emotional independence and a happier and more fulfilling future.
