We are now looking for a Community Fundraiser to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Benefits

- 25 days’ holiday per annum plus Bank Holidays (pro rata) increasing with long service
- Pension
- DIS benefit (3x salary)
- Sickness pay

- Time off for dependents

This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious and enthusiastic fundraising professional to help us develop the income we need to ensure our charitable work goes from strength to strength.

Community fundraising is a relatively new income stream for our organisation and this is an excellent opportunity for you to truly expand your skills and progress your career. You’ll be making a real impact on the continued success of our organisation and helping us help even more horticulturalists than ever before.

So, if you’re enthusiastic and are excited by the idea of working with a variety of people across the UK, we want to hear from you!

The Role

As a Community Fundraiser, you will be responsible for developing resources to raise money and support for our brilliant organisation.

Specifically, you will work with our dedicated community fundraising volunteers and supporters, providing training to both groups and individuals.

Crucially you will build a substantial UK-wide network, allowing the promotion of our charity at a higher level. Encouraging individual supporters and partnerships, you will inspire greater support for the organisation.

Additionally, you will:

- Plan, co-ordinate and help deliver volunteer-led events and community fundraisers to increase Perennial’s reach and income
- Establish and manage new local volunteer groups
- Undertake administrative activities including maintaining accurate records
- Support PR activities and participate in national marketing and fundraising initiatives

Please note, this role involves manual handling of cardboard boxes of stock, leaflets, deliveries, display racking, pull up banners and similar materials for shows.

About You

To join us as a Community Fundraiser, you will need:

- Previous fundraising experience
- Demonstrable organisational skills and excellent interpersonal skills
- The ability to monitor budgets and keep accurate financial records
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to cope with the demands of a varied workload and prioritise tasks
- High-level literacy and numeracy skills
- A flexible attitude to work and availability to work over some weekends and evenings
- A full, valid driving licence

Experience of using databases would be advantageous, as would Microsoft Office skills including Excel.

Other organisations may call this role Fundraiser, Fundraising Officer, Fundraising Executive, Community and Events Fundraiser, Community and Events Officer, Fundraising and Development Officer, or Community Fundraising Co-ordinator.
