North York Moors National Park Authority looks after one of the most phenomenal parts of the British Isles. Filled with beautiful moorlands and breath-taking scenery, picture book villages, and a dramatic coastline, the North York Moors is a unique area with diversity and ecosystems that are found nowhere else in the UK.

We have an innovative new Management Plan for the North York Moors and are now looking for an External Funding Officer to lead on raising funds to help us deliver the great work that we have planned.

The Role

As an External Funding Officer, you will take the lead in fundraising activity to deliver on a target of £2.5million annually.

Leading and co-ordinating a programme to secure external funding, you will identify funding streams and produce bids for submission. You will work in a culture centred on creativity and idea generation, enabling you to match funding with the project ideas developed by colleagues.

You will also continue our productive working relationships with key funding bodies as well as supporting staff throughout the funding processes.

About You

To be considered as an External Funding Officer, you will need:

- Experience in managing/delivering the bidding process for externally funded projects
- To enjoy and thrive in strong collaborative working across internal and external organisation boundaries
- Knowledge of current funding sources
- The ability to be creative and think strategically
- Excellent written communication skills


Financial and statistical experience would be beneficial to your application, as would a project or programme management qualification.

Experience of working in the private sector or within a commercial setting would be equally advantageous.

Please note, for this role you will need to be available for occasional evening work.
