Prisoners' Education Trust (PET) is looking for a new Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees.

PET is the UK’s leading prison education charity. Working with prisons across England and Wales, we fund courses in levels and subjects that are otherwise unavailable and champion the life-changing power of education. We help around 1,500 people each year to start their studies, equipping them with  the skills and qualifications to build brighter futures.

This is a pivotal time for PET as we implement our new five-year strategy. This new strategy looks to build on the progress that we have made in recent years and ensure that PET is fit for the future. It will see us reach out to new learners, broaden the advice and support that we offer, make greater use of digital technology, and influence the future of prison education policy.

At this crucial time for the organisation, as we develop and grow, we are looking for an outstanding colleague to join our Board in preparation for taking over as Treasurer in 2023. The Treasurer is an important position on PET’s Board of Trustees, playing a key role in ensuring the robust financial health of the organisation.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate not only an understanding of financial management but will also bring strategic vision, different perspectives, energy and fresh thinking to the Board.

If you care about prison education, if you want to help steer PET through the next phase of our development, and if you can offer us the dedication and commitment that we’re looking for, then we hope you will consider applying to join us.

The closing date for applications is noon on Monday 6 June 2022.

This a volunteer role but expenses are reimbursed.
