At Scope’s safeguarding team we are looking for a Retail safeguarding advisor to lead on safeguarding investigations for our retail shops. Alongside the investigations we would like someone to provide advice and guidance about safeguarding queries and best practice for the retail division.

The role

The Retail Safeguarding Adviser will use their safeguarding experience to apply to the retail setting. This is a new role to support the organisation’s current safeguarding functions.

The role involves investigating concerns about Scope volunteers and employees in the retail sector. The investigations will be independently completed in line with guidance from the safeguarding team.

The role will additionally involve supporting safeguarding best practice and cultural changes in the retail division.

About you

You are an individual with expertise in safeguarding adults, children, and young people. Specifically, someone who has experience in leading investigations. You are an experienced decision maker able to assess safeguarding risk.

You are an excellent communicator with experience of conducting interviews for safeguarding and communicating with individuals with disabilities.

You will have experience of signposting and making external referrals to social care or the police. You will have good organisational skills and the ability produce reports to a high standard.
