DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION & PERSON SPECIFICATION

Corporate Partnerships Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing fundraising team and help to raise income for a leading mental health charity. In this role, you will manage our existing corporate partnerships and take a lead in securing new corporate partners.

The successful candidate will work with teams across the organisation to develop our corporate offer, building successful long-term partnerships with a wide range of businesses. You will work closely with the Head of Fundraising as we look to grow our engagement and income with this key audience.

We are looking for someone with strong relationship management and communication skills, and a collaborative approach. A conscientious team player, you must have excellent administrative and IT skills. You’ll be part of a busy and friendly, small team reporting to our Head of Fundraising.

About the Charlie Waller Trust

The Charlie Waller Trust was created by the Waller family in 1997 in response to the loss of their son and brother Charlie who tragically took his own life whilst suffering from depression. We have since become one of the UK’s most respected mental health charities.

Our overarching mission is to educate young people and those with responsibility for them - parents and carers, teachers, college and university staff and employers - about their mental health and wellbeing.

At Charlie Waller, our vision is of a world where people understand and talk openly about mental health, where young people and those who support them are equipped to maintain and enhance their mental health and wellbeing and have the confidence to seek help when they need it.

About our team

This role sits within our small but effective fundraising team, reporting to the Head of Fundraising. We are a dedicated and friendly team, passionate about raising funds to help support and educate young people in looking after their mental health. Our personal approach to fundraising is key to our success and we strive to deliver a positive supporter experience. Corporate partnerships provide an important source of income for the charity and have plenty of potential for future growth.

The Charlie Waller Trust is a great place to work. We care about mental health and wellbeing in our team and have a positive, enabling workplace culture. Our values drive our work:

  • Warm: Positive personal connections are central to mental health; we aim to reflect that in all our relationships with beneficiaries, supporters, staff and volunteers.
  • Empowering: We support all those we work with, and who work for us, to use their minds, hearts, energy and creativity to fulfil their potential.
  • Collaborative: Partnership and cooperation are at the core of our work; we seek the views of those we wish to support and aim to put them at the centre of our activity.
  • Compassionate: We recognise vulnerability in ourselves and others, especially where there is more than one reason people may be vulnerable to mental health problems, discrimination or inequality.
  • Open: We believe in being honest about the way we work, our aspirations and where we need to improve; openness and good communication are key to good mental health.

Key responsibilities and duties of the role

  1. Manage a portfolio of corporate supporters, providing professional stewardship and ensuring relationships deliver against agreed objectives and obligations for the partner and the Trust.
  2. Build and maintain a robust prospect pipeline, delivering a regular flow of new corporate partnership opportunities.
  3. Develop a corporate partnerships content and communications plan, identifying key moments to drive further engagement with our partners and raise our profile.
  4. Develop cultivation plans for key prospects and sectors, working with colleagues across the organisation to progress opportunities.
  5. Review our existing corporate offer and explore options for developing existing and new products for the market.
  6. Work collaboratively with colleagues across Charlie Waller Trust to identify and develop projects of potential interest to corporate supporters, and produce bespoke, high-quality proposals and presentations.
  7. Provide regular updates on progress against agreed metrics and contribute to wider departmental fundraising reports as required.
  8. Keep abreast of trends and developments in corporate fundraising and the wider corporate sector to inform and refine our approach and identify new opportunities for income generation.
  9. Attend events hosted by Charlie Waller Trust and others to establish new contacts, develop existing relationships, and raise our profile and credibility with potential partners.
  10. Ensure appropriate contractual agreements are in place.
  11. Ensure that systems and processes are effective, and that our database is being updated and utilised as the central source of information for recording income and corporate partner details.
  12. Liaise with a wide variety of people and organisations including supporters of the Trust, trainers, funders, other statutory and voluntary organisations who work in the mental health field, and members of the public.
  13. Strict adherence to GDPR, fundraising guidelines and Charlie Waller Trust policies.
