Enter & View Officer, Healthwatch Tower Hamlets

BACKGROUND

The Local Authority has commissioned Your Voice in Health & Social Care (YVHSC) to deliver Healthwatch Tower Hamlets. Healthwatch is the main public and patient engagement mechanism for health and social care users. National guidance and a range of local engagement activities have helped to develop outputs for Healthwatch Tower Hamlets to improve outcomes for local people.

Healthwatch will include championing the health and social care needs of adults and children in Tower Hamlets, acting as an independent local voice ensuring that services meet the needs and remain high-quality and fit-for-purpose. Representing the views and experiences of local people, including children and young people and help communities to exercise greater choice over the services they receive. Healthwatch Tower Hamlets will have a visible presence in the borough, with an effective, proactive, and independent local voice.

Enter & View

Enter & View is a statutory power conferred upon Healthwatch by the Health and Social Care Act 2012. It allows our authorised Enter & View Representatives to enter and view any publicly funded health and social care services in the borough, to collect the views of service users, carers, and relatives at the point of delivery. These visits can be agreed in advance with the service we are visiting or can be unannounced spot checks.

JOB SUMMARY

This is a hybrid role, encompassing both face-to-face visits to locations across the borough, alongside office-based aspects that may, at times, be delivered remotely and virtually.

The Enter & View Officer post is a key delivery role within Healthwatch Tower Hamlets. The role will lead delivery of our Enter & View programmes, ensuring the development and delivery of quality and meaningful pieces of work that have maximum impact and improve health and social care services for local people.
