Chief Executive ADASS

Employer
ADASS
Location
City of Westminster, Central London
Salary
£105,000 - £130,000 pro-rata
Closing date

ADASS is a national charity whose membership is comprised of every Director of Adult Social Services in England, their direct reports and their Principal Social Workers. We are a leadership organisation and are seeking a Chief Executive to play a key, visible leadership role. We exist to advocate for good social policy for all and to share good practice to that end. We want to ensure that people who draw on care and support are able to live good, fulfilling lives.

A unique opportunity to job-share now exists for someone with a passion for social work and social care. You will understand how policy is formed and how it is delivered, locally, regionally and nationally. You will represent the Association in the media and across government. You will be able to and engage convincingly with ADASS members, the public, people needing care and support and with a full range of national partners. You will need to be collaborative, inspiring and resilient: the rewards will be the privilege of working with an exceptionally committed and engaged Trustee Board and excellent staff team at a national level together with the knowledge that the organisation has an impact that far exceeds its size.

The breadth and pace of work in ADASS is breath-taking. Support for Trustees and staff and leadership of the organisation and social care is key to this role, which encompasses the influence, wellbeing and sustainability of the organisation.

You will be well supported by the job share partner and Trustees in this offer for an average of three days a week (to allow for good handover and communications). Whilst chemistry with the job share partner is key, we are particularly looking for someone with:

  • Affinity with ADASS values
  • Ability to work collaboratively to strategically influence and shape events
  • Understanding and experience of advocating with key policy and decision makers
  • Ability to develop clear and coherent communications strategy
  • Confidence talking to the media

Recruitment will be via a two-stage process involving the current CE who will become one part of the job share, Trustees and the team.
