The Association of Charitable Organisations (ACO) is the umbrella membership body for benevolent charities and grant-makers who provide financial and wellbeing support to individuals in crisis.

ACO enables member organisations to benefit from the collective expertise, experience and resources of benevolent/grant-making charities across our network to address common issues and develop shared solutions. We do this through a coordinated programme of knowledge sharing, campaigning and networking activities throughout the year.

As we emerge from the pandemic, we are now looking to extend our existing Board of Trustees, bringing in additional skillsets and expertise in order to support and guide the charity through the next exciting chapter in its development.

We are specifically looking to recruit the role of Treasurer from potential candidates with experience of financial management in the charity sector.

Working with the support of the Charity's Chief Executive and Bookkeeper, the Treasurer will oversee the financial management of the charity in line with best practice and current legal requirements, and report to the board of trustees at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation. The Treasurer will ensure that effective financial measures, controls and procedures are put in place, and are appropriate for the charity.

We wish to increase the diversity of our Board and welcome applications from all sections of the community, particularly with respect to representation from black and minority ethnic groups. We are also open to applicants seeking their first Trustee role as well as experienced Trustees who have the required expertise.

For further information and a copy of our Trustee Application Pack, please contact:

Donal Watkin (Chief Executive) donal@aco.uk.net

Closing date for applications is 18 May 2022.
