Company

The Natasha Allergy Research Foundation is dynamic charity that hits well above its weight & has made an international impact in the allergy world since its launch in 2019.  The increase in food allergies in the UK over the last two decades is affecting almost every family, and are particularly prevalent in babies & children. The vision of Natasha's Foundation is to make allergy history. We want to prevent and eradicate allergic disease, starting with food allergy, creating a world that is safe for all individuals.

Nadim & Tanya Ednan-Laperouse started the charity following the death of their 15-year-old daughter Natasha from an allergic reaction to sesame seeds in a sandwich which she ate just before boarding a plane. Her Inquest was high-profile, reported across UK & international press & televised worldwide. They went on to campaign for a change in the food-labelling law & ‘Natasha's Law’ came into force across the UK in 2021. It requires all pre-packaged foods to carry full-ingredients and allergen information, meaning safer choices particularly for individuals & families living with food allergies.

Currently, food allergies affect about 8% of children in the UK, that’s one child for every classroom.  Latest estimates suggest that by 2025 more than 50% of the UK will have at least one type of allergy, with no age, social or geographical distinction. The UK’s allergic community often feels isolated & fearful with physical & mental-health repercussions for both adults, children and families. The mission of Natasha's Foundation is to bring about positive change by focusing on medical research, law and policies, educating and raising allergy awareness. We want to ensure the needs of people living with allergy are met in a meaningful way and to offer a real hope that will change the lives of all those living with this life-threatening disease.

The Natasha Allergy Research Foundation is registered as a Charity in England & Wales No: 1181098; and in Scotland No: SC051610.
