The Welsh Government’s Communities for Work Plus programme will provide the infrastructure to support the ongoing delivery of Communities for Work. It will take forward the learning from the Lift Programme and enable Lead Delivery Bodies to enhance their employment focused support for those, often with complex barriers, who are furthest from the labour market.

The programme will support individuals who are in or at risk of poverty, consistent with the obligations under the Well-Being of Future Generations (Wales) Act. It will work with key stakeholders such as Families First, Flying Start and Supporting People in providing pathways between programmes to provide interventions and support to prevent worklessness and economic inactivity. It will provide support for participants who fall outside the currently tightly defined geographical boundaries and eligibility criteria of Communities for Work and other ESF funded programmes.

The role of the Finance & Governance Officer is to support the continuation of the Communities for Work operations, in accordance with the Welsh Government and European Structural Fund guidance and priorities. The postholder will record expenditure, maintain financial spreadsheets, secure hard copy or certified compliance evidence (in line with WEFO’s Eligibility Guidance), to ensure compliance with robust monitoring systems, and coordinate the barriers fund and supporting documentation.

Previous experience with financial software and budget control is essential.

No CVs accepted. Applicants will only be contacted if they are successful in securing an interview.

GAVO is committed to working towards its workforce being more representative of the population that we serve and particularly welcomes applications from people from minority ethnic communities. Selection will be made on ability and skills to undertake the role.
