HR/People and Governance Senior Officer

Our client, a nature conservation charity, is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic HR and EDI professional to join their team. You will play a key part in developing and delivering a Human Resources and EDI strategy, supporting the charity to deliver their goal, Wilder Somerset.

This management level role has been created to develop capacity within this charitable trust and is the strategic lead for the People Strategy. The role will work collaboratively with the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team, Sales Director and relevant departments within the greater Society of Trusts network to drive forward this charity's People Strategy and help them ensure that they have the Human Resources systems to realise their ambitions for wildlife across Somerset.

Working closely with the Head of Resources and the Human Resources and Governance Officer, the postholder will be responsible for the day-to-day Human Resources function. The Human Resources Manager will develop and implement our Human Resources and EDI strategy that includes staff and volunteers. This role demands strategic leadership and business skills, a collaborative ‘can-do’ approach and attention to quality of output.
