We are now looking for an HR Assistant to join our team on a permanent basis. This role can either be part or full-time.

The Benefits

- Salary of £21,550 - £24,000 per annum (pro rata for part-time)
- Pension (6% employer contribution)
- Learning and development opportunities, including training, regular appraisals and feedback

If you are, or are soon to be, a qualified HR professional, this is the perfect entry-level position in which to learn all there is to know about human resources with our leading organisation.

In this engaging, varied role, you will gain invaluable experience and have the chance to expand your skill set and begin to forge a successful career you can be proud of.

You will both implement, and benefit from, our caring, friendly culture and strong social purpose. What’s more, our recipe for success has been to invest in our staff and, as such, you can take advantage of extensive development opportunities, making this a great role now and for your future.

The Role

As an HR Assistant, you will support the successful delivery of our professional and efficient HR services.

You will help manage the full employee and contractor lifecycle, providing support with a wide range of HR generalist tasks and assisting with the implementation of HR initiatives.

Acting as the first point of contact for HR-related queries over the phone or by email, you will administer pre-employment checks, co-ordinate induction and leaving processes and liaise with payroll and IT teams about new starters and leavers.

Additionally, you will:

- Support line managers with appraisal and probation processes
- Support all internal communication activities
- Maintain external and internal HR information systems with accurate and current data
- Identify suitable training and development opportunities to fulfil training priorities
- Co-ordinate recruitment activities, from writing job descriptions to interviews and onboarding

About You

To be considered as an HR Assistant, you will need:

- To have achieved, or be currently working towards, a CIPD Level 3 qualification
- Knowledge of UK employment law and payroll practices
- Excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills
- A flexible, detail-oriented approach
- Proficiency in IT, including MS Office

A degree level qualification, ideally in HR, business administration or a similar field, would be beneficial to your application. Experience working in a similar role or within an administrative environment would also be advantageous.

Knowledge of General Data Protection Regulations and best practice would also be favourable.

The role requires the completion of a basic DBS check.

This is a part-time role, working 18.75 hours per week, ideally Monday to Friday, however, there is flexibility with the working pattern. Alternatively, this role can potentially be full-time with time spent on other tasks, such as client and/or student support services, event co-ordination and marketing support activity.

Other organisations may call this role HR Co-ordinator, HR Officer, Human Resources Assistant, Human Resources Officer, Human Resources Co-ordinator, HR Advisor, or Human Resources Advisor.

Webrecruit and Tavistock Relationships are equal opportunities employers, value diversity and are strongly committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all employees and all applicants for employment. Equal opportunities are the only acceptable way to conduct business and we believe that the more inclusive our environments are, the better our work will be.
