About our role

The new Head of Fundraising Campaigns and Events will grow and develop our Individual Giving and Community and Events income streams, focusing on providing a first-rate experience for donors and fundraisers and delivering regular, unrestricted, sustainable income.

It is estimated that over 500,000 people are living with Crohn’s and Colitis. That’s 500,000 stories to tell and 500,000 reasons for Crohn’s & Colitis UK to be better.

With your help, we aim to engage more people affected by these conditions in our fundraising. Our donors and fundraisers are a driving force for the organisation. Most are connected to the cause, and all are passionate about improving the quality of life of people with Crohn’s and Colitis.

In this newly created role, you will lead on engaging new fundraisers, donors, and members. You will be target-driven and lead on increasing levels of income with a focus on developing new initiatives, engaging new audiences and converting supporters into lifetime donors. With support from the Individual Giving and Community & Events Managers, you will oversee the production of our fundraising appeals, acquisition campaigns, community and event fundraising activities, and deliver innovation in providing the highest-quality supporter experience. You can really make this role your own in this newly created post.

About you

In this role, we are looking for someone who has plenty of experience in leading growth in income across multiple streams, as well as leading successful multi-channel marketing strategies. You will be experienced in delivering ambitious, innovative acquisition strategies and high impact, high-quality events and fundraising activities. You will be passionate about donors, fundraisers and members and how their engagement can drive a charity.

You’ll need to be creative, ambitious, highly motivated and target driven to succeed in this role and able demonstrate experience of developing and implementing fundraising strategy. You’ll be highly analytical and able to use data insight to inform future activities as well as having excellent evaluation and decision-making skills. You will have the ability to deliver high impact cross-organisational projects. Significant experience of developing supporter journey and customer care to donors or fundraisers is also needed, as well as plenty of leadership experience.

The future

You would be joining the charity at a really exciting time. We are in excellent financial health and have recently launched our new three-year strategy which details our action-focused and ambitious plans to improve the quality of life for people with Crohn’s and Colitis. If you like the sound of this position, and think you have what we are looking for then we would love to hear from you.

Our location

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. But one thing we have learned from the pandemic, is that we are able to work very effectively from home. In this role, there is plenty of scope for doing that although there will be times when you will need to be at face-to-face meetings. It is possible, therefore, you could live almost anywhere in the country. If you want to be considered for the role but are worried about location, talk to us – it may work!

Closing date for applications: Monday 11th April (9.00 am).

Company

Right now, an estimated 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of.

Because of the stigma and misunderstanding surrounding these diseases, thousands of people are suffering in silence. But they're not alone. We're here for them.

We’re here to give those people affected by Crohn's and Colitis hope, comfort and confidence. To make sure their voices are heard and help them live freer, fuller lives. For whatever they need, whenever they need it, we’re here. And we’re not going anywhere until we’ve beaten Crohn’s and Colitis for good.

By working for Crohn’s & Colitis UK, you’ll be joining us at an exciting time in our development. We’re setting our new strategic direction and looking to expand our influence, reach more people and deliver significant growth in our income.

We are ambitious. We are compassionate. We are stronger together.
