This is a unique role, leading the Connect Fund and delivering its key aim of strengthening the social investment market to better meet the needs of charities and social enterprises.

The manager will be responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of grantmaking for the Fund, as well as shaping the strategic direction for the final two years of its life. You will work closely with our partners at Access – the Foundation for Social Investment, to identify emerging challenges in the sector and continue to develop the Fund’s Learning Community.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the social investment landscape in England and experience working with a wide array of charity and social enterprise infrastructure organisations and stakeholders. You will be excited by the challenge of identifying where the Fund can have the strongest impact during its limited lifespan and a strong commitment to addressing structural inequalities in the market.

Barrow Cadbury Trust delivers the Connect Fund on behalf of our partners, Access– the Foundation for Social Investment.

  • This is a full-time fixed term contract up until 30th September 2024.
  • Salary: £43,450 - £52,140 p.a.
  • Generous contributory pension scheme.
  • The team has been working at home and is transitioning to a hybrid model of working. This is under review but there will be an expectation of 2-3 days a week office/field-based as a minimum.

Any offer of employment will be made subject to references, confirmation of the right to work in the UK where we will need to see original documents and the satisfactory completion of a probationary period.  Before you apply have a look at the Connect Fund website to see our funding priorities and Barrow Cadbury Trust’s short animation about our values and the way we work.

Interviews for short listed candidates will be held on Friday 8 April 2022 at our office at Kean House, 6 Kean Street, London, WC2B 4AS.
