Job Details

I am delighted to be working with the prestigious College in Cambridge to recruit a permanent Domestic Bursar.

The College is seeking to appoint a senior member of its bursarial team. Your responsibility will be to oversee the provision and integration of the domestic services and its external business. This will be achieved through the leadership and management of the operational departments: Catering, Conferences, Accommodation, Estates, Facilities, Grounds, Housekeeping, Information Technology, and the Porters’ Lodge. This is a new position; you must have the experience and vision to develop and implement a range of innovative changes to current procedures and practices.

The Domestic Bursar will ensure high quality, efficient and effective domestic services and maintenance of the College estate. You will need to set a culture of cooperation, developing a shared vision within and between all departments of the College, and be the face of several of these for stakeholders, including fellows, students, staff, and external organisations. The Domestic Bursar will be a member of a wide range of committees concerned with the College’s operations and infrastructure.

About the College

Our vibrant student body is made up of around 420 post-graduates and 130 mature undergraduates, who are over 21 years of age. With over 260 senior members – academics working at the cutting edge of their field or eminent members of their profession – and around 70 staff, you will be joining a dynamic and growing College with an ambitious vision for our role in shaping the future of higher education and collaborative research.

The College has grown significantly in the last 20 years. The acquisition and development of the award-winning Mount Pleasant Halls, opened in September 2019, launched a new phase in our growth and development. The next 10 years will be an exciting time to be part of the college’s story. We need creative, energetic people who are passionate about the global importance of education and research to secure, shape, and develop that future.
