About the role

With a new strategy almost in place the charity is looking to the future and seeking an exceptional Head of Trusts, Grants and Contracts to drive our income generation aspirations through grants, trusts, contracts and tenders.  The recruitment of this post is part of our ambitious plans and commitment to develop our grants programme and grow our services and opportunities for children and young people across Bolton.

Your main duties will include:

  • Setting the strategy to achieve £1.2m grant income per year
  • Bid writing, presentation and business development
  • Contract management and financial/risk management
  • Stakeholder/account management
  • Data, research, analysis and reporting
  • Leadership, people management and teamwork

This new, senior role brings together strategy development, income generation, contract management, and people management and is a super opportunity for someone to build on a strong existing portfolio with an excellent team in place.

About you

You must be able to lead in a rapidly changing internal and external environment, you will have direct experience of working across a broad range of the specialist areas of responsibility and will have experience in all or most of the following areas:

  • Proven ability to write submissions and secure funding from national, regional and local opportunities (£300k+)
  • Overseeing the transition from bidding to mobilising contracts/grants, securing knowledge and buy-in during the bid process
  • A track record of developing robust tools and processes to build budgets, manage risks and plan implementation
  • Developing relationships, particularly in dispersed and multi-functional teams, and with external stakeholders
  • Leading on negotiating with partners and in developing detailed proposals, costings and budgets
  • Budget management including monthly reconciliations, in line with internal and external reporting requirements
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and inspire teams to deliver against income targets while driving through continuous improvement
