Job Description

The Student Recruitment Marketing team is responsible for the marketing of the profile and educational programmes of Queen Mary University of London, and the attraction and recruitment of students (Home/EU and Overseas).

Queen Mary are recruiting to the role of Marketing Manager for the School of Business Management which will focus on supporting the continued expansion of the School of Business and Management at Queen Mary for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate markets.

Responsibilities include:

  • To develop a student recruitment marketing strategy and implement the resulting marketing plan to increase the number and quality of applications to the School of Business and Management
  • To line manage the School marketing team, establishing clear objectives and standards, ensuring ongoing appraisal and development, and overseeing workloads to ensure that deadlines are met
  • To take a central role in advising the School on developing their portfolio of Masters and Bachelors courses by analysing market conditions
  • To undertake market research including analysis of School positioning and brand, future sources of undergraduate and postgraduate students for the School
  • To manage, in conjunction with the central Marketing and Communications Campaigns and Conversion team, the School's advertising campaigns for UK, EU and overseas taught postgraduate and undergraduate student recruitment
  • To manage the delivery of the design, production, review and distribution of all external marketing and publicity materials, including brochures, prospectuses, etc., and create other, relevant and targeted pre- and post-application digital and/or print marketing materials as required
  • To lead on the development and implementation of conversion events for the School including open events, offer-holder days and virtual events, and provide direction and coordination to other School staff involved in marketing and conversion activities
  • To identify potential news stories and liaise with the Faculty Comms Manager to ensure promotion, and liaise with same and Head of Internal Engagement to ensure that internal communications channels are in place to staff and students

The Successful Applicant

We are looking for candidates with considerable marketing experience from the Higher Education (or related field).

We are looking for understanding of brand and positioning strategies and the marketing mix within a Higher Education setting.

What's on Offer

The post is based in both the Mile End campus and from Queen Mary's newly refurbished Dept W purpose-built hybrid working environment. It is a full time, permanent appointment with 4 days required from the offices and 1 from home. The starting salary will be Grade 5, in the range of £38,655 - £45,479 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
