Are you an experienced community organiser, looking to drive positive change for people and nature?

Join us and you will oversee projects that mobilise members of the public to take actions in support of climate and nature.

This is an exciting time to join the Community Engagement and Campaigns team at WWF, as we push for a positive future for nature and people. We are creating a new department to deliver an ambitious new 3-year strategy, centred around our impact goals on climate change, food systems and nature. Campaigns and community engagement are key to the success of every one of these impact goals. As Community Engagement Manager you will be part of this future by helping design and lead the delivery of public-facing change campaigns.

In this role, you will help implement diverse and inclusive community engagement programmes that enable audiences to play an active role in tackling biodiversity loss and climate change. You will seek out and develop collaborations which have the potential to reach and mobilise key audiences. To do this, you will use a variety of tools and tactics, both on- and offline, to identify communities and groups with potential to influence and inspire change. You will connect with active groups working on relevant issues to our campaigns or political targets. You will work with partners to develop and lead workshops, brainstorms, and training sessions, and produce and disseminate resources for communities.

You must have experience of community organising or community engagement. You will be adept at working in complex multi-skilled teams, building trusted relationships across the organisation, sector and with external partners.

You will be a confident communicator and build strong relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds and differing needs. You will prioritise and embed principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in all that you do, taking an intersectional approach to campaigning. You will help grow our internal capacity for movement building by advising other teams on best practice for co-creating approaches that put people power at the heart of our campaigns.

You will be comfortable commissioning or developing assets for volunteers and community groups, adapting resources to audience need. You will possess strong project management skills, and the ability to embed monitoring and evaluation into your work. You will have experience in using insight to inform and adapt your project planning. Critically, you will be committed to the fight for nature and have a clear understanding of the role of the public in achieving a nature-positive future.

If you are passionate about making our world a better place through your work, we would love to hear from you. Please click on the link and apply via our website by submitting a copy of your CV and Supporting Statement to highlight what makes you a good fit for us.

Every role at WWF is open to applications from all sections of society. We believe in the potential of everyone regardless of; sex, race, religion or belief, ethnic origin, different physical ability, family structure, socio-economics, age, nationality, or citizenship, marital, domestic, or civil partnership, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other aspect that makes you, well you. Here at WWF, we are committed to conscious inclusion that helps cultivate an ethos of belonging, connection, and shared purpose. We believe that the more diverse we are the better we become; this brings us together and empowers us to develop, engage and inspire; and critically to help build a future where people can live in harmony with nature.

Our policies and benefits reflect the importance of people being able to have a good work-life balance and being able to bring their ‘full self’ to work.

Our world needs you like never before. We are the first generation to know we are destroying the world and we could be the last that can do anything about it. We are looking for people who are passionate about making it politically, socially, and economically unacceptable to destroy our planet’s natural resources. We need you to join us in the fight for our world.

Company

Best known as the world’s leading conservation body, we’ve seen first-hand how wildlife, the environment and human activity are all interlinked.

That’s why our passion for safeguarding the natural world has to be backed up by other environmental action – tackling the global threat of climate change (through our big global campaigns like Earth Hour) and helping people to change the way they live to ease pressure on natural resources.

WWF is at the heart of global activities in all these areas. We have teams of highly skilled professionals working with governments, businesses and communities here in the UK and around the world.
