Job reference: REQ000324

£38,000 - £45,000pa

Woking, Surrey

This is an incredible opportunity to use your project management expertise to significantly impact the future of humanity with the world’s largest independent conservation organisation.

At WWF we are focussed on creating a world where nature and people can thrive. As Food Transformation Project Manager, you will help deliver our Food Goal to create a sustainable food system. This involves halving the environmental impact of UK Baskets by 2030. This work has been brought together in the WWF Basket, launched with 5 Retail signatories in November 2021. Your remit will be to ensure this key Food Goal initiative is well managed, monitored and evaluated as well as targets delivered.

As Food Transformation Project Manager, you will assist the development of the WWF Basket strategy and collaborate with colleagues and external industry players to ensure its delivery. This will include overseeing the on-time completion of workplans, controlling project budgets and managing risks and issues. You will act as the key relationship manager for food industry contacts and support the initiative’s expansion into the wider food sector, such as food service and manufacturing. You will also lead on the development of food transformation convening and industry engagement activities as well as annual data collation work with retailers. You will be responsible for its dissemination across WWF and external audiences too.

To join the fight for our planet, you must have successfully delivered projects and programmes to time, budget and quality standards. Ideally, you will possess a recognised project management qualification, such as APM or PRINCE2. You will be used to monitoring and evaluating delivery too. Critically, you will be experienced in bringing together a wide range of stakeholders and creating a culture of collaborative working. A strategic thinker, you will possess strong communication and influencing skills as well as the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines. Knowledge of the food industry would be highly desirable.

If you possess strong project management skills and are enthusiastic about making our world a better place through your work, we would love to hear from you. Please click on the link and apply via our website by submitting a copy of your up-to-date CV and the Supporting Statement to highlight what makes you a good fit for us.

Application closing date: 20/02/2022

Every role at WWF is open to applications from all sections of society. We believe in the potential of everyone regardless of; race, religion or belief, ethnic origin, different physical ability, family structure, socio-economics, age, nationality or citizenship, marital, domestic or civil partnership, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other aspect that makes you, well you.  Here at WWF we’re committed to conscious inclusion that helps cultivate an ethos of belonging, connection and shared purpose. We believe that the more diverse we are the better we become; this brings us together and empowers us to develop, engage and inspire; and critically to help build a future where people can live in harmony with nature.

Our policies and benefits reflect the importance of people being able to have a good work-life balance and being able to bring their ‘full self’ to work.

Our world needs you like never before. We are the first generation to know we are destroying the world and we could be the last that can do anything about it. We’re looking for people who are passionate about making it politically, socially and economically unacceptable to destroy our planet’s natural resources. We need you to join us in the fight for our world.

Company

Best known as the world’s leading conservation body, we’ve seen first-hand how wildlife, the environment and human activity are all interlinked.

That’s why our passion for safeguarding the natural world has to be backed up by other environmental action – tackling the global threat of climate change (through our big global campaigns like Earth Hour) and helping people to change the way they live to ease pressure on natural resources.

WWF is at the heart of global activities in all these areas. We have teams of highly skilled professionals working with governments, businesses and communities here in the UK and around the world.
