We are looking for an inspirational leader to be the Director of Youth Genesis Trust in Devon.

Salary £35,000 p.a. plus 3% pension contribution.

Youth Genesis is a Devon based charity with 14 years of experience delivering services to young people. We are seeking a creative and values motivated manager who will lead the organisation through a period of change and growth.  Youth Genesis aims to transform the lives of young people through a range of dynamic activities and sessions that are designed to challenge, innovate, and radically inspire the next generation living in our local communities.

The Role

The new Director of Youth Genesis will be passionate, motivated and experienced in the pursuit of positive outcomes for young people. The role will be to lead a team of staff and volunteers and to shape the organisation ready for a new direction focused on the challenges and issues faced by young people in the region. Working with a range of statutory and voluntary partners this is an opportunity to grow as a manager and leader. The role will be a challenging one, shaping our organisation for a rapidly changing world, but Youth Genesis has strong foundations and there are strengths to build with. The Person

The ideal candidate for this role:

  • Has commitment and drive to changing lives through effective youth work.
  • Has experience of leadership and management and coordinating  resources to achieve strategic goals.
  • Has experience of implementing strategic and business plans, pursuing best practice and quality services.
  • Has experience of building and maintaining successful partnerships.
  • Is highly organised with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Has well-developed people skills and the ability to create positive relationships with staff, volunteers and service users.
  • Is collaborative and willing to work alongside all members of staff and be hands on when required.
  • Has experience of financial management and the skill to prepare and manage annual budgets, expenditure forecast and income generation.
  • Is committed to diversity in all its forms.

The Process

We will be undertaking an interview process on Thursday 24th February 2022 in Paignton. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to prepare a presentation for the panel, undertake a meeting with selected staff and attend an interview with trustees. The closing date for applications is Friday 18th February at 5.00pm.
