An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Finance to join our client's Finance Team.  This role offers flexibility to work as a hybrid worker from their Milton offices and from home.

Our client, a children's hospice supports families and cares for children and young people with life threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. 

If you are an experienced and qualified (ACMA, ACA or ACCA) finance professional who wants to work within a very rewarding charity in a full time role then they would love to hear from you.

The role reports directly to the Director of Finance and is a senior role in the charity and a member of the Operational Management Team. You will manage a team of six people and together you will manage all aspects of finance and financial reporting for the charity.

They’re looking for someone with a proven ability to consult and influence a variety of stakeholders internally and externally and to build credibility as a trusted financial manager and advisor. You will be an experienced inspiring line manager and accustomed to managing multiple projects to tight deadlines.  Your will have excellent IT skills and be interested and motivated to increasingly use technology to improve processes.

What will I be responsible for?

  • The provision of a high quality accounting service to the charity and its subsidiaries to include all financial services and monthly and consolidated annual reporting.
  • Providing insight and analysis to other managers. Manage the budget process and providing regular financial forecasts. Support managers with performance monitoring and ensure effective control of resources including cash management.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial legislation and best practice, manage tender processes for financial services and contracts, manage internal and external audit requirements and monitor and report on financial risk within the organisation.
  • Lead on the development of finance IT systems including the introduction of new technology to improve processes and integrate systems between different parts of the organisation.
