Event Manager - International Conference

Are you keen to support transformation of global food systems so that they become regenerative in order to protect our threatened ecosystems as well as fair and just for farmed animals?

Are you supportive of our client's message that global meat consumption must be reduced?

Are you an experienced event project manager who wants to make your mark by delivering a successful and high-profile hybrid international event aimed at promoting solutions to transform our food systems?

Then our client has an exciting opportunity for you to join a leading global farm animal welfare organisation and help end factory farming to protect animals, people and the planet.

Their May 2023 International Conference is intended to provide a high-profile platform for discussions involving global and national policy makers, civil society, food industry actors including farmers and leading food businesses. Their aim is to promote solutions and to inspire action. The hybrid conference will be held in a landmark London international venue seating up to 700 people with many more joining virtually from around the world.

They are seeking an experienced, motivated and organised Event Project Manager, to be responsible for managing all aspects of the conference, coordinating with all stakeholders, including their external events management company.

The role will bring together your excellent organisation and event project management skills with your event and stakeholder management knowledge and experience. Your work on the conference will contribute to delivery of the conference objectives to encourage actions by international stakeholders to create lasting change for animals, people and our planet.

Event Manager Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have sound knowledge gained in a similar position with a proven track record of leading and project managing successful events and projects including conferences, seminars and workshops

• Strong project management, event management and good attention to detail are key requirements for this position.
• You should have several years of professional experience and possess strong written communication skills as well as excellent computer skills including database management. Ideally you will have experience with both Cvent and Salesforce.
• You can meet deadlines, both personally, and to coordinate a project team to do so through excellent communications and stakeholder management.
• You will be excited about the opportunities offered by a hybrid conference with potential for people to join virtually from around the world.
• You should be fluent in English (oral and written). Knowledge of other UN languages desirable.
