With the scale of the challenge facing nature there are few roles as important as this. Our mission to halt and reverse nature's decline is a big ask. We have an ambitious new 3-year strategy to deliver a world where nature and people can thrive, but we know we cannot succeed alone. Education, learning and youth engagement are going to be key to our success. Therefore, we need your skills in this new role of Head of Youth Engagement. Young people have the power to change the world and this is your opportunity to help make that happen.

As Head of Youth Engagement, you will supercharge our approach to youth engagement. We want you to develop sector-leading and innovative approaches that harness the skills, expertise and enthusiasm of young people to make change. You will inspire your team to catalyse youth-led action. Our authentic, impactful online and offline campaigns will listen to and amplify the voices of our younger supporters. You will broker new youth partnerships and grow our emerging youth development programme. Using your leadership skills, you will embed a culture of youth engagement and participation within WWF's wider programme of work. You will ensure we take a diverse and inclusive approach across all our youth programmes, using insight and expertise to maximise our impact.  You will also lead on safeguarding for our youth engagement work.

Highly creative, you will be passionate about delivering authentic youth engagement that is inclusive, intentional, and mutually respectful. You will be experienced in youth programme design and evaluation and used to delivering successful large-scale youth engagement programmes.  You will also possess a track-record for building and leading high performing teams and building beneficial relationships. You will favour a collaborative working style and possess outstanding interpersonal, influencing and communication skills. Of course, you will be able to demonstrate a commitment to the natural world and WWF’s core mission too.

An enhanced DBS check is necessary for this role.

If you have the expertise to grow and nurture a vibrant and diverse pool of WWF youth supporters, we would love to hear from you. Please visit our website via the link, complete the online registration and submit a copy of your up-to-date CV with the Supporting Statement highlighting what makes you a good fit for us.

Application closing date: 03/02/2022

Every role at WWF is open to applications from all sections of society. We believe in the potential of everyone regardless of; sex, race, religion or belief, ethnic origin, different physical ability, family structure, socio-economics, age, nationality or citizenship, marital, domestic or civil partnership, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other aspect that makes you, well you.  Here at WWF, we are committed to conscious inclusion that helps cultivate an ethos of belonging, connection and shared purpose.  We believe that the more diverse we are the better we become; this brings us together and empowers us to develop, engage and inspire; and critically to help build a future where people can live in harmony with nature.

Our policies and benefits reflect the importance of people being able to have a good work-life balance and being able to bring their ‘full self’ to work.

Our world needs you like never before. We are the first generation to know we are destroying the world and we could be the last that can do anything about it. We are looking for people who are passionate about making it politically, socially and economically unacceptable to destroy our planet’s natural resources. We need you to join us in the fight for our world.

Company

Best known as the world’s leading conservation body, we’ve seen first-hand how wildlife, the environment and human activity are all interlinked.

That’s why our passion for safeguarding the natural world has to be backed up by other environmental action – tackling the global threat of climate change (through our big global campaigns like Earth Hour) and helping people to change the way they live to ease pressure on natural resources.

WWF is at the heart of global activities in all these areas. We have teams of highly skilled professionals working with governments, businesses and communities here in the UK and around the world.
