About Us

Perennial is the nation's only charity dedicated to helping people in horticulture. Together with our network of partners, we provide free support, information, advice, financial assistance and services for horticulturalists and their loved ones experiencing illness, disability, bereavement, family breakdown and financial difficulties.

We are now looking for a Fundraising Manager to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Role

As our Fundraising Manager, you will be responsible for leading a dedicated team to deliver our new and improved fundraising strategy and meet an income target of £1.2million over the next five years.

In this important role, you will help implement an ambitious fundraising strategy focusing on major donors, corporate partners, special events, legacies and community fundraising. You’ll help develop our membership scheme as well as our trusts and foundations income streams.

Leading our brilliant Fundraising Team, you’ll help take our organisation to the next level, developing new income streams, setting challenging but realistic annual targets and developing a culture of collaboration and support.

What’s more, you’ll be fully involved in our presence at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2022, our largest fundraising opportunity to date! You’ll be key to helping us improve relationships with our existing major donors, acting as the face of our organisation and bringing on board new supporters.

About You

To join us as our Fundraising Manager, you will need:

- Demonstrable experience of successful fundraising
- Proven experience of developing corporate fundraising partnerships or major donor programmes
- An understanding of multiple types of fundraising including individual giving, community, events, legacies, corporate, trusts and foundations and major donors
- Experience of carrying out prospect research
- Experience of successfully pitching to organisations
- Experience of working with, and presenting, financial information
- Experience of line management and staff development
- Experience of collaborating to develop strategies and setting insight-based targets
- Experience of working remotely
- Knowledge of GDPR compliance
- The ability to build strong relationships within the team and with funders
- To be computer literate with the capability of using Microsoft Office applications
- A full, valid driving licence
