About Creative Mentor Network

People from lower socio-economic backgrounds are not fully represented in the creative workforce – and we exist to change this. Our range of mentoring programmes are designed so that everyone wins: supportive careers guidance for young people; training and development for mentors; access to an amazing diverse talent pool for creative businesses.

We work with partners including Soho House, Sony Music and Facebook to design and deliver bespoke mentor programmes, supporting young people and creative professionals to build meaningful and impactful relationships. As part of this, we create sustained organisational change by growing a movement of inclusive leaders through training and development for mentors.

About the role

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and relationship-focussed individual to drive growth within the charity. You’ll be working with the Managing Director to increase the number of partners we work with specifically focusing on our Mentor Development programme Break the Wall and building revenue generated from our jobsboard.

You will also work closely with the Senior Marketing Manager to plan partner events and campaigns.

Responsibilities:

 

Business Development

- Support the Managing Director to generate leads and foster new partnerships with companies

across the creative industries. You’ll attend pitches, write proposals and negotiate comfortably and with confidence

- Create long-term partnerships with our partners in the creative industries to grow their involvement with CMN and ensure they renew their partnerships with us, year on year

- Create outbound leads. You’ll be setting up email campaigns and tracking the progress of new

partnerships

- Work with the Marketing Manager to plan partner events which strengthen our existing relationships and provide an opportunity to showcase our work to potential new partners

- Write business development marketing collateral

Jobsboard

 

- Work with Senior Marketing Manager to execute strategy to increase revenue generated through CMNs jobsboard

- Sell jobsboard to existing and new partners

- Manage and develop process from orders, through to posting to our alumni, collating feedback from those using the service and iterating our offering

Admin

- Prepare partner contracts. Training and support will be provided for this.

- Work with CMNs accountant to reconcile company payments. Training and support will be provided for this

- Salesforce data management (cleaning data semi-regularly). Training and support will be provided for this

Skills and experience:

- Passionate about equality and supporting young people

- People skills with the ability to establish and develop key business relationships in a variety of situations

- Strong communication skills, in writing and in person

- Commercially focused, with a track record of over-delivering sales targets. Able to pitch confidently to clients, and assertive enough to chase opportunities

- Highly organised, attention to detail, with a proactive approach to improving processes

- Committed and motivated to succeed and meet objectives, both personal and business related

- Good presentation skills

- Strong influencing and negotiating skills

- Account management experience

 

Bonus:

- Good industry knowledge

- Experience of using Salesforce/Google/Docs/Google Calendar and Zoom

Start date: ASAP (our application deadline is rolling)

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience

Benefits: 25 days’ holiday (plus office closure at Christmas), Soho House Membership, flexible working

(opportunity to work remotely 3 days a week, staggered hours), 4pm Friday finish

Location: London Kings Cross (Tuesdays and Thursday) and remotely

Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Flexibility may be required for events over the evening.
