Our charity’s vision is that every child has the opportunity of a hope-filled life. Spurgeons was founded in 1867 and is in a period of change, embarking on a transformational 10-year strategy to invest and grow in our current and new services for children and young people.

We are looking for a Head of Data, Insight & Evidence to contribute to achieving our growth goals, and their own approach to this specialist role that supports evidence-based decisions to ensure the health of the charity for the good of children and families.

This pivotal role fulfils the function of being the Professional Lead for service user data, service user satisfaction and outcomes measurement, and performance information reporting for both internal and external stakeholders. It combines being the in-house subject matter expert in those key areas, the support and management of a team of 5 people and being a hands-on contributor to cross-department projects and initiatives as part of their work.

The number of children, young people and families that we have been able to assist have grown substantially, to over 6,000 who we work with intensively and over 20,000 who we have had contact with over the last financial year. During Covid-19 and lockdown, 783 children were identified in safeguarding incidents Spurgeons responded to, of which 86% of children whose outcomes were measured with an evidence-based measuring tool showed positive progress.

You will need to be confident in the use of MS Office with Excel skills at an advanced level, bring experience and knowledge of data and ‘theories of change’, have the ability and willingness to lead and present up to Trustee level, and be ready and motivated to help us amplify Spurgeons’ impact for children and families through the collection of real life stories from our local services.

If you have the skills and expertise and want to make a difference to the lives of children and families, this could be the role for you.

Our central support teams are based in our Head Office in Rushden, Northamptonshire, although these offices have been closed since March 2020 and all our central teams are currently working remotely from home.

Please see the job description attached and the appointment brief can be viewed on our website for more details.

We are committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people we serve. This post is subject to necessary safeguarding checks including an appropriate level DBS Disclosure.
