Our Client has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic leader to join their award winning social housing organisation, where they truly place their customers at the heart of what they do.

 

They are looking for someone to head up their newly created Governance, Risk and Assurance directorate and provide a strategic lead across the organisation to make a real difference in the work they do together.  This is a key role and will play a major part in the delivery of their Corporate Plan and Data Strategy.

 

As a Director you will lead and be accountable for delivering results, in a responsible, innovative, inclusive and enthusiastic way. You will take the lead in ensuring that the whole organisation understands its responsibilities with regards to assurance and compliance. You will use your expertise to steer them in keeping the organisation compliant and maintaining their G1 status, whilst also supporting their growth and ambitions. You will work closely with their Board and sub Committees, including their Customer Committee, in defining and delivering priorities, policies and plans. In addition, you will uphold their values, maintain the integrity of their organisation, and act as a role model, by demonstrating, and setting the standards that shape their culture, and how they go about their business.

 

Reporting to the Executive Director of Resources you will be instrumental in the development of new thinking to support the Executive Management Team. You will be responsible for driving all transformation and change programmes within your area of responsibility to support the delivery of their Corporate Plan and provide the insight to improve organisational performance.

 

Your areas of responsibility are:

  • Governance and Regulation, including Data Governance       
  • Health and Safety – except for Building Safety legislation compliance 
  • Performance and Business Intelligence     
  • Procurement                 
  • Risk and Insurance                     
  • Undertake the role of Company Secretary

     

Who are they after?

  • A strategic professional with experience of working at a senior level with Boards, Committees and Executive teams ideally in a Social Housing environment. 
  • Understanding of the interdependencies and relationships of strategy, policy, governance, risk, and operations and to external stakeholders to maintain high levels of business assurance
  • Comprehensive experience and understanding of regulation, good governance, developing, and transforming governance frameworks.
  • Demonstrable experience of successful performance management to achieve Corporate Priorities in a customer focused service organisation.       
  • Dynamic, results-driven and focused – detailed and analytical
  • Excellent communication/stakeholder engagement/relationship building and influencing skills      
  • Proactive, confident decision maker with a hands-on, ‘can do’ attitude – able to hit the ground running and quickly add value    
  • Engaging, consultative and sensitive communication style, flexible and adaptable                     
  • Team player who will be hands-on
  • An extensive and successful background of consistent achievement at a senior level in at least two of the functions within this roles area of responsibility
