About the role

Sense has an exciting opportunity for someone to join our People Team as a Head of People Services and Systems, based at our TouchBase Pears Centre in Selly Oak Birmingham. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week.

The Head of People Services and Systems is an integral member of the People Team. You will be:

  • Leading the People Services and Systems team so that they deliver a high quality, timely and efficient onboarding, people analytics and employee lifecycle administration to the organisation
  • Ensuring our people systems and processes are creating the most efficient and engaging experience for our people
  • Creating an environment where our people data is produced and analysed to enable robust decision making

The People Team at Sense exist to support all our employees at every stage of their journey with us. We provide strategic lead on people management, learning and development, internal communications and engagement at Sense. We aim to enable the organisation to have the right culture, capacity and capability to achieve its purpose.

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

  • Proven track record as an engaging leader supporting HR administration functions
  • Proven experience of producing and analysing complex people data to determine needs and work collaboratively to identify solutions
  • Excellent level of IT literacy accompanied by a sound understanding of HRIS and Microsoft platforms
  • Evidence of a pragmatic approach to problem solving, risk and decision making
  • A demonstrable commitment to enabling an inclusive and diverse workforce to reflect our community
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build effective working partnerships
  • Able to organise and prioritise a high volume of work, and be responsible and accountable for quality and accuracy of own and others work
  • Able to write succinct, accessible reports for a wide variety of customer groups at all levels of the organisation
  • Good knowledge of the regulatory requirements for employee data in the social care and education fields across England, Wales and Northern Ireland
  • Excellent knowledge of core HR legislation and processes
  • Evidence of own continuing professional development
