Legal and Compliance Advisor/Manager (Climate Change)

Civitas Recruitment are excited to be working with a membership body focused on working with the investment community on climate change. The organisation aims to accelerate a shift towards to a low-carbon economy by bringing investors together to use their significant collective influence with policy makers, investors and companies encouraging policies and practices in line with a climate resilient world. A great part-time opportunity exists for an experienced Legal and Compliance Advisor/Manager to join the organisation and provide a pragmatic in-house legal support service and to support the mitigation of risk arising from any legal, regulatory, compliance or governance issues. It is a hybrid permanent role consisting of working 2-3 days per week (part-time).

Who are we looking for?

Ideal candidates must be a qualified solicitor or barrister (English law) with significant post-qualification experience. You will have significant experience of advising on complex legal issues and be comfortable providing understandable, accurate and timely advice on a very wide-ranging and changing set of issues. Demonstratable experience/understanding of advising manager on the key risks inherent within complex contracts is essential for this role. As this is a standalone role, there is a strong preference for previous experience that includes a role as the sole in-house legal expert.
